Gold Medal & 90 Points awarded to our 2017 Zinfandel

We are pleased to announce that our Sol Rouge 2017 Zinfandel received a Gold Medal & 90 Point rating from the American Fine Wine Competition!

Our 2017 Zinfandel is produced from grapes at our estate vineyards from vines planted with clippings from the “old vines” at the famed Beatty Ranch in Howell Mountain. The unique “Howell Mountain” clone allows our wine to exhibit many of the characteristics of other wines from old vine Howell Mountain Zinfandel vineyards that share this clone. In the glass, this wine exhibits aromas of black cherry cola notes, a common characteristic of other wines from the old vine Zinfandel vineyards of Howell Mountain. On the palate, the wine has dark cherry fruit with integrated spices of black and white pepper, followed by a medium-long finish of earthy minerals with a hint of cola in the finish. With its balance and structure from the fine tannins, this Zinfandel pairs well with food that is spicy, including barbecue and can be enjoyed now and over the next 5-7 years.
